In these days of high expectations are our ideals being reached? We expect a lot of bang for our buck but are high prices linked to good service?
In the motor trade we are quite used to a huge range of choice; from the dubious chap on ‘rogue traders’ that will change your oil for cash and dump the old oil down the drain, to the salubrious main agents that sometimes baffle us with incomprehensible invoices with lots of noughts on!
Of course common sense says stay well away from the cash in hand chaps, your car is your second biggest investment and must transport you and yours safely.
The main agents promise good service but in a recent issue of a renowned consumer magazine they rated very poorly when compared to independent garages. Not good when you are paying top dollar.
They also have a reputation of being able to manipulate prices. I always think if it can be done for a good price in the first place why not just offer that to the customer initially?
Good quality independents can offer excellent service at a fair price and despite a common misconception they are well equipped to work on newer cars without effecting warranty. So if you want to experience a better service try a well rated independent for the best in customer satisfaction. Remember independents survive on their own reputation not that of a global brand.
