This is the time of year most drivers realise their car isn’t quite as good as it should be in the snow. If you’ve got a rear wheel drive, like a Mercedes or BMW, you will be really feeling it!
Winter tyres are of course the ideal solution but that can seem expensive for a couple of months of motoring. You would need to remove winter tyres around March to April otherwise they will wear out rapidly.
Instead you could think about replacing your tyres for new all weather ones. Check your current tyres (ask me for a free tread depth gauge) if they are at or below 3mm, which is still legal, I guarantee you will be finding driving a nerve wracking experience! Tyre at that level of wear are useless in snow, ice and on wet roads.
Replacing your worn out tyres for new ones (even to a reasonable budget) will change your driving experience completely. Not mention making the difference between you staying safe and getting to work up that tricky hill!
